Daddy's Girls
Can you believe that May is almost over? I can't...but am so thankful it is. Because, that means my man is done with the field! He has been home for a weekend since April 23rd. The girls and I are just aching for him to be home. It's these times that you know how easier life would be if we were a bit closer to family. However, I am so grateful for the friends we do have how much it's helped time pass.
The fridge is stocked for the hubs, Memorial Day, and everything else in between. I just need need to give this house a good clean and we'll be ready for Dad! I loathe laundry and the dishwasher (grrrrr)... with Lydia using bottles now and eating what we eat boy do the dishes stack up.
I have accomplished a lot these last few weeks, and have pages out of my notebook filled of all I have accomplished, what the girls have been doing, etc...for Jake to read when he gets home. My mom had the silly, yet smart idea of leaving it in the john for him. That way he has some reading material and can catch up on what he's missed. (TMI? Hehehee)
Here are some pics of when Jake was home 3 weeks ago.
who knows what was so funny :)
Sunday morning
clearly Isabelle did not want her picture taken
loving my man!
getting some play time in with daddy before heading back to the field!
Tomorrow can't come soon enough! Have a great Weekend

'Take me out to the ball game...'
Our church's play group decided to meet and take our kiddo's to the El Paso Diablo's first baseball game of the season.
It was free for adults and children. The girls had fun...Isabelle was treated to cotton candy, Lydia even took a nap.
At first we were in the sun on the bleachers and after a bit we found a covered area to move to.
Oh and it really was a girls day out...Every one who showed up had girls!
Tomorrow is Friday and that means a week till my man get's home!
Yay!
p.s.Lydia has bangs! Had to trim those bad boys...she could hardly see! She will be our bang girl. She sure has the forehead for it. :)

Hapy Mother's Day!
There are so many things I could write about on Mother's Day. I could go on and on and on and on and on...you get the drift. :)
I have learned so much from my mother and am still learning from her. God, husband, mom. Those are my 3 best friends.
So instead of babbling and crying about how great of a mom I have I found some poems.
and there's nothing like a few pictures...
My mother holding Isabelle for the first time
my great grandmother Gloria
my MIL holding Isabelle for the first time
And...when I became a mom...
(the first night Lydia was home)
Happy Mother's Day!
(I love you mom)

enjoying my girls
Jake has been gone since April 23rd, with the exception of Saturday and Sunday. He won't return until Friday the 25th.
So, my patience is in full swing and so is my notebook and pen. I swear the things that come out of Isabelle's mouth, I have laughed so hard lately. So my notebook is getting full of her crazy thoughts, ideas, and everything in between. There is no one to share it with, (you know since daddy's gone)and since everyone back at home is working during the day. Sometimes I have to call my mom to quickly share what she said, she's the one person that I know will answer her phone anytime of the day! Thanks goodness for that. I really have been enjoying the girls and we have been busy. Lydia, poor thing has a nasty cold. The last 2 nights it's taken awhile to get her to bed due to her hacking cough and snotty nose. Luckily all Isabelle and I have are a sore throat and some congestion.
The last 2 days have been so rainy and cool. Only a high of 68-compared to high 80's...today we actually got caught in the rain!
I am still soaking up what happened. Our annual play date with the mommies from our church is on post at this really neat big park, which has 4 different play grounds, and all but one are covered. Down here in the dessert if the park isn't covered come 11 am it's just too hot for kids to even go down a slide. It also has a splash park/wading pool, and a tower to climb. Back to the rain...It was clearly overcast, dark clouds looming over the mountains, and some sprinkles here and there. About a half hour after arriving we heard a few low rumbles of thunder and down it came! So much for bringing my towel and wiping all the slides down (sarcasm). The kids and moms were all hidden under some of the slides because the rain seemed to be coming in every direction. While we sat on our blankets the kids had their snacks and we got to see a few airplanes take off. The park is so close to the airport you can't even hear the person talking next to you when a plane takes off. Its fun to watch and has yet to be annoying.
So Isabelle had a chance to jump in puddles and get her pants soaking wet as she went down the slides.
On the way home she sat in a tank top and a blanket. That's it! He he! No unders, no socks, she loved it!
Wish I could have gotten some pics, of course I forgot my camera.
Here are some photos of the girls these past weeks.
Tomorrow's Friday! Yay..2 weeks to go

2 in the purple room
Sit and Stand...there is a long story behind this double stroller, one that I would like to forget. I will spare them and just say that we love this used sit and stand and will be pushing this one till the wheels fall off.
And I don't even have a picture of the girls in it yet, what I do have is the one I bought 2 days before this one (used as well.)
That's where the drama comes in...instead here's a cute pic.
While Jake was gone last week one of the things I decided to do was put the girls in the same room. Isabelle picked the purple room, so it's where both girls will be till we move. (side note, when we do move the girls will still share a room!)
Isabelle's room is now a sewing room and quiet room where Isabelle can work on puzzles, color, and do some school work. Lydia, well she'll just get into all her big sister's things and have doing it. :)
This is Isabelle posing with her 'treasure.' She really likes Peter Pan. So even if its a bead or a little stone like what you can barely see on her dresser, it's her treasure and she takes it with her EVERYWHERE. Even when she naps, I still check on her, and her treasure will be in her hand.
She is too sweet.
what was i waiting for?
Why did I wait this long to get Isabelle a library card? MOM FAIL
Well she has one now! We've done story time at our library just once before. Due to it being at 11, prime nap time, I never really pushed it. Now that Isabelle is getting older 11 is doable. So off we went with her new girlfriend, and my friend to story time. The children were read three stories about mom's and did a cute Mother's Day project. A neat perk about living so close to Mexico is they always tie in some type of tradition or story with Mexican tradition or history. The library is only 2 miles down the road so it's going to be a fun place to go to when it's just too hot out in the afternoon's.
They also have these small neat computers for kids with learning games; shapes, numbers, etc...
I am sure by the time we leave El Paso in July Isabelle will be working the mouse and clicking like a pro.
Baby steps right?
My girlfriend (why is it I always meet a great mom/friend just before we leave?) Rachel has 2 daughters. The oldest is just 4 months older than Isabelle, and her baby is just a month older than Lydia. So we are going to soak up this last month or so before they leave with as many play dates as we can. There is this fun children's author she introduced me to 'Mo Willems.' Isabelle rented two of his books and they are a riot. We will be on the lookout for more books by Mo Willems soon. Tonight we read I broke my trunk! and Happy Pig day.
Check out his books if you have toddlers-you'll enjoy them.
Happy Tuesday!
