Cheerleader's are the cutest.

Our cutie girls were Green Bay Packer cheerleaders this year for Halloween. They were too cute, if I must say so myself. Their 'costumes' were 10 bucks a piece. Well really I bought they're tutu's and all ready had everything else. What do you think of them?

Just love this...

Fort Campbell Mothers Of Preschoolers: You are not Alone:      As military wives, we go through different challenges than civilian wives.   The biggest challenge we face that most civilians do not...

Uncle Yo-Si-ah comes to town

My brother who is just a year younger than me has been living in Dallas the last 6 years. Since living there he went to school, started some youth ministries, did 2 missionary trips to Brazil and Africa, and has become a pastor. He is now moving back to Wisconsin where he has accepted an associate pastor position at the church we grew up in. Such a cool and amazing life he is living. Any who he decided to detour and drive 2 extra hours to visit us for a day. I have never scene Isabelle so happy to see someone. He definetley wins the prize for whatever you want to name it...Isabelle was soo happy! All she could talk about was her uncoo, yo-si-ah. It was also surprising to see how inviting Lydia was with him. She tends to take a while to warm up, but jumped right in. Children can definitely sense when someone is trying to hard for their attention, the more relaxed and yourself the faster they warm up to you. (At least that's how mine seem to operate.) We enjoyed his company so much. Thanks for visiting us brother!

Leaf Piles

I caught some awesome pictures of Isabelle playing in the leaves last week. It has been perfect, beautiful, amazing, calming, and great smelling fall week(s). Kids are out all over raking big piles and jumping in, everyone seems to be out on a walk or at the park. I think we know it's all coming to an end when all to soon it will be too cold to go out. Isabelle likes to pretend she is a bird in the nest of leaves. Lydia isn't so sure about the piles. She prefers to hold one leaf at a time. :) The house is filled with fragrant cooking smells from hearty soups, chilli's, to pies, and baked cookies. Mmmmm We just got back from another trip to Nashville, to go see Lydia's orthopedic surgeon. Turns out we aren't going to recast her left leg but leave it be.... So we enjoyed a nice breakfast at a cool diner called 'Noshville.' Again, Jake was able to make the appointment which I am so thankful for. Up until today I was not comfortable driving to Nashville myself. Definitely am confident with the drive now though. Well, I am off to make loaves of banana bread! FYI, tonight is another show time of one of our favorite shows 'New Girl.' If you have never watched it I suggest you do. Its with Zoey something or other...she is awesome, as are her roomates on the sitcom. Check it out!
Oh and Isabelle had to run out in a small rain that came down so out came her rain boots and splash she did!

6 year bust

Well it was bound to happen, an anniversary that blew. And..it was this years. Last week Tuesday the hubs was home with a tummy bug and there was no special evening. The hubs is also not a big card guy. Which is fine, but at this point in my life its the little things; like a card that make it all okay. So I was bummed to get zip, zero, nada...It didn't feel like a special day but a regular day with 3 kids to take care of. However I do have to give credit where credit is due though. 2 weeks prior to our anniversary we spent some alone time together while in Wisconsin and he surprised me w/ a credit at a nearby spa here in Clarksville. So thank you dearest for the 'pre' anniversary time and gift. So here is the love of my life, 2 little girls later, oh and our snazzy anniversary outfits (aka sweat pants and a t-shirts.)

Bread Bread Bread!

I am feeling like I am in a rut with being a SAHM. As the girls get bigger I feel like I need to start stepping up my game. So today I made some bread. MMMM, the house still smells amazing. And the little devil and angel on my shoulder are arguing right now because I want to go eat more! This weekend we purchased some some farm fresh butter, I spread a bit on this bread and shut the front door it is good! I spread olive oil on the bottom of the pan and sprinkled a light dusting of sea salt. In the one loaf I mixed in parsley, oregano, and basil. I then o.o.'d the top of the bread before baking it and added those same seasonings to the top. DELICIOUS! The Second loaf is a regular white loaf of bread. I just o.o'd the bottom of the pan put the loaf in, after it raised a bit I brushed it with butter and baked it. So there it is in a nutshell. The house smells great. I feel like I did something more productive. Isabelle did help in the making of this...She has to learn too. :) I know I need to work on my bread making skills but the bread still takes good.

Dress Up

Well my girls have been enjoying some of my wardrobe items that haven't been worn in ages. We have been playing dress up and it's been fun. I also found a tu-tu lady that makes them for cheap, and they always come with a pretty hair bow to match. She made the girls Packer tu-tu's and actually gave me 2 bows for each girl.
We are enjoying a layed back Sunday of Football watching and toy playing. Its windy and cool out and the leaves are falling like crazy. One more thing-Christmas came early. My Father in Law blessed us with two bar stools. They are beautiful and we love them.

Purple and Pink Stripes

The time came for Lydia on Friday to have her bi-lateral foot correction surgery. We drove and hour to Nashville, in the dark and pouring rain. None the less made it there safe and ready. Due to Lydia's Spina Bifida she has nerve damage down to her feet which causes her to be very pigeon toed. As well as when she stands its on the outsides of her feet. One foot has better standing position than the other but none the less she needed some help. Time has sure flown by, I remember when she was just a baby and we found out she would need this done after the age of 1. And now that time has come and went. We were amazed at how quickly the procedure took and impressed by the team at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Lydia did amazing coming off of anesthesia. We left our house at 5 am and we were home by 1130 am. Amazing. She has pink and purple striped boot casts and is doing so well. She can stand in them and is still crawling. All though she does seemed to get tangled up with the weight of the casts; but I think that may just take some getting used to. Lydia is definitely a bit heavier to carry now. But hey, that's a good arm work out for me and a good leg work out for Lydia. Right? From the beginning Jake's parents made it clear that they would come and help out any way needed when surgery time rolled around and we're so grateful to them for coming to help. They stayed with Isabelle and helped out with dinner and it was such a help. Lord knows as parents our mind and heart was racing all morning. Although I did feel quite a peace in my heart. I think all the prayers going out for our little one and for us as parents were being answered. God knows no boundaries and everything went smooth, our Lydia did amazing, and we are so thankful this step is over with and our looking forward to her healing and next steps into getting her walking! So thank you again family and friends; for your prayers, thoughts, and kind words. Have a great Sunday!

Fall is here

Hello there readers, Isn't this one just a wonderful season? October is here, fall colors are everywhere, that means more home cooked, soulful, meals, yummy smelling candles, getting a good arm work out while raking, cool morning (or evening) runs(walks), and actually enjoying it before realizing you have to start Christmas shopping. :) We just finished a scrumptious dinner. All fresh veggies from the farmers market which including zucchini, red pepper, onion, one small thinly sliced red potato, and a hot red pepper, sauteed in butter; seasoned with sea salt, black pepper, and a few dashes of red pepper flakes. DELICIOUS. Then I browned a New York strip in butter, same frying pan I cooked the veggies. Steak was from Jake's buppa, you know the one that bought us the box from Wisconsin. Not a big red meat eater, so a quarter of that steak was plenty. We ate a softened flour tortilla with the veggies and steak. And the girls? Well Lydia went to bed at 6:45 and Isabelle was watching Rio in the back round...but for dinner they had oatmeal. Not fancy, but perfect for a picker eater and teething baby. Doctored up with milk, butter, brown sugar, and of course cinnamon. A thick slice of french bread and they were happy campers. What's on the menu this week at your house? Tomorrow we are off to Nashville, where we will have an Ortho consult for Miss Lydia's foot surgery. Hopefully SOON...oh how she wants to walk. :) We plan on taking full advantage of the day. Here is a pic of the front of our home here on post. Isabelle loves the orange lights so I felt the need to share. Happy Hump Day
